An industry leader revered for his progressive vision, management style, and hospitality expertise, he was on the board of the South Florida Chapter of the American Institute of Wine and Food (AIWF) and he served on the advisory board for Johnson & Wales, the largest culinary university in the United States, for over ten years. He is also a Trustee for the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce. A Boca Raton, Florida, resident, Burt enjoys traveling, swimming, and surfing.
He holds the title of 2008 "Business Leader of the Year" by Boca Raton's Chamber of Commerce, 2007 "Restaurateur of the Year" by Gold Life Boca, Gold Coast and Palm Beacher Magazines, and has won numerous Readers' Choice Awards from Boca Raton Magazine for each of his restaurant concepts including Best Service, Best Intracoastal Dining, Best Outdoor Dining, Best American Cuisine, and Best Dining Entertainment.
This visionary, third-generation restaurant aficionado, Rapoport started his career in New York City, where his family owned and operated a successful kosher dairy restaurant for 50 years. Known for providing high-quality cuisine with a good value, an elegantly welcoming ambience and impeccable service, Rapoport has broadened his horizons for casual, resort-style comfort dining and tropics-themed ambiance at Deck 84.
Burt Rapoport also currently owns Deck 84, opened in fall 2010, Rapoport's first waterfront dining concept located at 840 E. Atlantic Ave., Henry's at 16850 Jog Road in The Shoppes at Addison Place in Delray Beach, Bogart's Bar & Grille situated on the Premier level of the Cinemark Palace 20 in Boca Raton, E&J's Sandwich Shop serving premium ingredient sandwiches in a casual environment in Delray Beach at 814 E. Atlantic Ave. and co-owns Max's Grille in Minzer Park, Boca Raton, along with Burt and Max's, a new restaurant concept in West Delray.
