Dedicated Restauranteur Takes South Florida Dining to the Next Level
with his Palm Beach County Restaurant Group
Notable restaurateur Burt Rapoport
has spent the last twenty-five years creating memorable Palm Beach
County restaurants. This industry veteran, who is the President of
Rapoport's Restaurant Group, Inc., of Boca Raton, is dedicated to
providing high-quality gourmet cuisine, a warm and welcoming ambiance,
and truly attentive service, at all of his restaurants. Throughout
his career, he has always received many honors and accolades from
the media for creating the premier South Florida dining experience.
He was especially honored, in 2007, when he was named Best Restaurateur
from Gold Coast, The Palm Beacher, and Boca Life magazines. Additionally,
in the Readers' Choice poll from Boca Raton magazine, he earned numerous
awards for all of his Palm Beach County restaurants. Opus 5 was voted
Best New Restaurant and was in a three-way tie for Favorite Restaurant;
Bogart's Bar & Grille was voted Best Dining Entertainment; and
Henry’s was voted Runner-Up for Best American Restaurant, in the May
2007 issue.
The aforementioned South Florida
dining awards reflect the banner year Burt experienced in 2006. In
May, he opened Opus 5, at the Shops at Boca Center in Boca Raton,
where he launched a menu of inventive American gourmet cuisine with
Asian accents. In August of 2006, he took over the bar and grill restaurant,
at the JM Lexus Premier Level at Muvico Palace 20 in Boca Raton, where
he changed the name of the restaurant to Bogart’s Bar & Grille—as a nod to the screen legend. At Bogart’s,
he completely revamped the menu, adding many popular dishes from his
other Palm Beach County restaurants. (past and present). Burt also owns
the perennial favorite Henry’s in Delray Beach, which he opened in 2000,
which serves up gourmet comfort food. He is a partner in Max’s Grille,
in Boca Raton’s Mizner Park, and Jazziz Bistro at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino
in Hollywood.
Burt is a visionary, third-generation restaurateur whose family owned
Rapoport’s—a successful kosher dairy restaurant in New York City—for
fifty years. He literally grew up in the restaurant business and always
enjoyed the conviviality of eateries. After graduating from Arizona
State University, with a bachelor’s degree in marketing, Burt followed
in the tradition of both his father and his grandfather and continued
his career in hospitality.
Burt is a distinguished industry
leader who is revered for his progressive vision, management style,
and hospitality expertise. He was on the board of the South Florida
Chapter of the American Institute of Wine and Food (AIWF) and he served
on the advisory board for Johnson & Wales,
the largest culinary university in the United States, for over
ten years. He is also a Trustee for the Boca Raton Chamber of
Commerce.
A Boca Raton, Florida, resident, Burt enjoys traveling, swimming, and
surfing when he is not working in one of his bar and grill restaurants.
